  • Positive and negative aspects of stress.

 

  • Activity: “Stress Symptom Self-Assessment” – Participants complete a self-assessment to identify their personal stress symptoms and discuss in small groups.

Causes of Stress and Coping Strategies

  • Overview: Exploring common causes of stress and strategies for coping, with a focus on workplace stressors
  • Topics Covered:
  • Internal vs. external stressors.
  • Workplace stressors: workload, role ambiguity, interpersonal conflicts.
  • Coping mechanisms: problem-focused vs. emotion-focused strategies.
  • Mindfulness and relaxation techniques.

 

  • Activity: “Stress Source Mapping” – Participants identify sources of stress in their work environment and brainstorm strategies to manage them.

Managing Stress and Emotions at Work

  • Overview: Understanding how to manage stress in an organizational context and the role of emotions in shaping behaviour.

  • Activity: “Emotion Mapping Exercise” – Participants reflect on how different emotions influence their attitudes and behaviors at work and discuss strategies for managing emotions effectively.

Resilience and Action Planning

  • Overview: Building resilience and developing an action plan to manage stress and promote well-being.
  • Topics Covered:
  • Key principles of resilience.
  • Strategies for building personal and organizational resilience.
  • Developing a personal resilience action plan.

Reflection and Action Plan

  • Overview: Reflecting on key learnings and committing to action.

Objective: To help participants identify personal symptoms of stress.

Description: Participants complete a self-assessment to map their stress symptoms across physical, emotional, and behavioural categories and discuss the results in small groups.

Stress Source Mapping:

Objective: To identify and address workplace stressors.

Description: Participants use a worksheet to map out sources of stress in their work environment and discuss potential solutions with their peers.

Emotion Mapping Exercise:

Objective: To explore the impact of emotions on work behavior.

Description: Participants use an emotion mapping tool to reflect on how their emotions influence their behaviour and decision-making at work and develop strategies for managing emotions effectively.

Resilience Action Plan:

Objective: To reinforce learning and encourage action.

Description: Participants write down specific actions they will take to manage stress better and build resilience. They share their plans and commitments with the group to foster accountability and support.
